My job is to give you that balance from work to play, whatever the profession; 7 days a week you can turn work wear into a great outfit for a night out, whether you work in a casual environment or a corporate office. Turn that day look into the night look right through the season; with a New Year shine with a new you.
Formal skirts when they come high waisted with belts give colour to make the look more interesting, when the skirt is dark keep the hosiery opaque black. For the more adventurous, the bubble/puff skirt with pockets is feminine and provides much needed curves to the spaghetti shape like Kate Bosworth.
Try and work figure hugging fitting tops with bubble skirts and close fitting tops with pencils and A-line skirts.
Work the monochrome look for simplicity, if its with a pencil skirt make sure it's got a split at the back or you'll look more Morticia Adams than fashionista on the dance floor.
If you are pear shaped, you can still wear a pencil skirt; make it darker than the top creating illusions and to maintain the proportional balance. The styles suited to these shapes work best:
- Apple - A-line
- Pear - pencil
- Spaghetti - bubble skirt
A throw back trend is the leather pencil skirt modelled by Eve, when you have curves, there is nothing more sexy than leather, keep this one for a casual Friday, swap the blouse for a simple boob tube or camisole.
Black patent looks classic during the day and sexy at night so is a perfect choice when it comes to accessories; namely shoes and bags! (Patent also provides a wipe clean surface easy for maintenance). Brogue is sexy and neat, a classic feature working its way throughout the high street, a medium heel (~2inches) will elongate legs, any higher with platforms may not get you past the 5pm clock out, but do look fabulous for a swap over after work.
Wearing a pair of bright and beautiful shoes adds zest to the outfit and brings versatility, smart enough for the office and also works well with a pair of stone wash skinny's on the weekend.
These shoes below are the ultimate item, bang on trend with the Mary Jane strap and block heel was made for comfort and style for the 9 to 5 day, perfect to lead you into the evening. Yellow is the new mustard from spring summer 2007, let it bright up a suit and lead you right into the Friday night weekend of fun. The bold yellow works well with all the other prints and florals coming out this season.
To accessorise keep earrings uncomplicated, you can never go wrong with a pair of vintage gold earrings, think Dallas and elegance. If you prefer chandeliers keep to one colour crystal, or one metal. Add a bangle to mirror a motif in the earrings or shoes, colour or design. Natural makeup is the best way to looking fresh at 5am.
