New Family Atrocity in Austria

I am still reflex-gagging when I recall the details of the Josef Fritzl case (the lunatic). Twixt these fits of regurgitation I have learned of a new case from Austria that will appal anyone who hears the facts.

A 39 year-old freelance PR Advisor who wasn't in the best financial shape has killed his wife, 7 year-old daughter and then his father-in-law and finally his own parent in the same night. The coroners reports stated that the murder weapon was an iron axe and that his wife and daughter were killed by repeated blow to the head with the axe.

The killer turned himself into police -covered in blood- and claimed during questioning that he killed his parents as he didn't want them to know that he had become a failure financially. So he didn't mind them knowing that he had made like a deranged lumberjack on his wife and child?? Is there something in the water in Austria? Is the ozone depletion greater over Austria? Coming so hot on the heels of the Fritzl horror show, Austria is not looking like the greatest holiday or weekend break destination, which is a pity as it is a beautiful country

Curiously, apparently the killer tried to kill himself by hanging and failed! I'm quite sure hanging is a thoroughly unpleasant way to off oneself but after an effective and brutal axe-wielding rampage, could he not find a quicker and better way to kill himself?
