Office Hygiene..or lack thereof!back to blogs home >by The Watcher Foul-mouthed, smelly, untidy and noisy colleagues are forcing half of all workers to consider leaving their job according to a Fish4Jobs survey. Most people said that they had had enough of irritating colleagues and their eccentricities. How often have you been in the lavatory and witnessed a colleague who has strode out nonchalantly without washing their hands? Far too many times to remember and each time toe-curlingly shocking. How often have you been in the presence of a colleague who's stench has made your eyes literally water? Who is ever brave enough to tell these pariahs that they are offending everyone in the office who does not suffer from anosmia? Weren't these people raised well by their parents and society? I have witnessed colleagues in various jobs who have left the washroom without washing their hands even after apparently doing a number 2! The mind boggles at the germs that these people will have all over their hands, face and clothes, not to mention their keyboard and desk. I yearn for an Dettol antiseptic wipe as I write this. Their should be health and safety rules that subtly and diplomatically spread awareness that not washing hands is a BIG no-no and is frowned upon by society and guardians of germ free environments. The survey only polled approximately 120 workers. I wonder what the breakdown of responses would be per sector, per town? Which workers in which industry in which town are the most smelly and dirty? back to blogs home > To check main articles home CLICK HERE > Back to Recruitment Times homepage CLICK HERE > |
